The APE Protector team has been busy in West Sumatra, inspiring the next generation of wildlife protectors and forest guardians!
In addition to protecting tigers and preventing human-tiger conflict, the team is working hard to raise awareness in local communities. By involving local people, they are creating lasting change to help protect tigers and their forests.
And World Tiger Day was the perfect time to spread the word about tiger conservation! The team organised a series of fun activities to bring people together to learn, share, and show their love for tigers. Here’s a look at some of the highlights:
Live Radio Talk Show
The team kicked off the day with a live radio talk show to reach listeners all across the region. This was a great way to share important information about tiger conservation and encourage everyone to take action!
Creative Competitions
The team also hosted two fun and creative competitions to get the community involved:
- Writing Contest: 197 people shared stories about tigers, showing their support for these amazing animals.
- T-Shirt Design Contest: 249 people submitted fantastic designs to help raise awareness about saving tigers.
Colouring Competition
To get kids involved, the team held a colouring competition. 61 children from local schools learned about tigers and showed their creativity through their artwork. Three lucky winners received prizes for their beautiful drawings!
We couldn’t have done any of this without YOU! Thanks to your support, the APE Protector team is building a new generation of tiger protectors who will continue to fight for wildlife and forests for years to come.
From the bottom of our hearts—THANK YOU for being part of this amazing journey!
