Happy International Tiger Day! 🐅 To celebrate the best day of the year, we'd love to show you the incredible impact you're making for Sumatran tigers.
You might remember Emba from our recent fundraising campaign. Emba was caught in a deadly snare. Less than a year old, she was trapped in wire, terrified, in pain, and unable to escape. The wire tore into her neck, leg and back, leaving deep wounds.

But because you care, Emba was rescued, brought to safety, and given the urgent medical care she needed to survive. Your kindness gave her a second chance at life.
It’s also your kindness that's helping make sure this doesn't happen to other vulnerable tigers. How? By destroying the deadly snares threatening wild lives.
Life-saving Snare Sweep
Because you stand with Sumatran tigers like Emba, the Tiger Patrol Team was ready and equipped to jump into action and stop other tigers from becoming snare victims too. Immediately after Emba’s rescue, the team carried out a snare sweep patrol in the wider forest area, to find and destroy the snares set for wild boars along the boundaries of community farms.
What they found was heartbreaking: deadly wire snare traps set to claim precious lives.
But what they destroyed was significant: 200 metres of cruel wire snares, gone for good, thanks to you.
To strengthen this work, the Tiger Patrol Team spent time with the village and local authorities, discussing the dangers snares pose to wildlife, especially the Critically Endangered Sumatran tiger. These conversations matter. Awareness and community commitment are some of the strongest tools we have to save tigers from Extinction.
